I am Houston bound and couldn't be more excited!! Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Australia, but it doesn't have anything on the good 'ole US of A! It's only going to take me 31 hours (YUCK!!) - 21 on a plane and 10 in airport transit - but I will get there sooner or later.

K is taking the Boards as we speak - wish him luck! He has been so nervous and stressed! I'm ready to see him! 2 weeks away is a LONG time!

First thing I'm doing once I get home - HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW & RODEO!!!

T-24 hours and I'll be Australia bound! Brisbane and Melbourne, here I come! It will be a hectic 2 weeks of working in a new country, but boy, will it be worth it. Work hard, play harder.

I PROMISE to be a better blogger when I get back, but right now, I'm focused on buying tickets to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane so I can hug this little guy!!!

But I should really be doing this...

God, I LOVE recruiting and on campus interviews. (insert touch of sarcasm here) I was really excited to get out of the big city for awhile until K sent this in an email...

So sorry bloggy lovelies that I have neglected y'all! It's been a whirlwind past 2 weeks. GREAT news at work though - I am able to start recruiting again - Praide the Lord! Thank you, recovering (slowly, but surely) economy!! Needless to say, I have been getting a little stir crazy at my desk.

This is my absolute favorite tinted moisturizer EVER (trust me - I have tested too many to count). It is lightweight and non-greasy, but covers well enough that I can use it as "base." It also has SPF 20 which is awesome!

It's been a whirlwind of a week! I'm so glad to be back home in Houston!! Minneapolis, you are a beautiful city, but you are way too cold for my liking!! Now that I am back home, I have one day, today, to catch-up at work (yeah right!), and re-pack to head home to New Orleans for the week. Martinis & Madness are for sure to come - bachelorette party this weekend, Hornets game next week, Thanksgiving, and my 27th (ahh!) birthday on the 28th! 1) I am a bit of a clean freak, and by "bit," I mean MAJOR clean freak. Cleaning relieves stress for me. Except taking out the trash. I've already discussed my hatred for that chore here!

2) I love everything and anything PINK!

3) I may or may not (MAY) have a shopping problem. I've never been able to turn away from a fabulous Louis Vuitton bag. And don't even get me started on shoes. DSW, I love you!

4) On top of being a clean freak (see # 1), I'm also a bit anal. K thinks it's a fun game to turn my picture frames to see if I will notice. I ALWAYS NOTICE.

5) I lost my only sister 3 years ago, October 19, 2006, to Cystic Fibrosis (CF), and I miss her more and more with each day that passes. "They" say it gets easier with time, but it doesn't.

6) I am an LSU Tiger, and I bleed Purple & Gold. GEAUX TIGERS!!

7) I love living in Houston, but wouldn't be opposed to moving somewhere else. L.A.? Austin? Dallas? North Carolina? Baton Rouge? I'm always down for a change of scenery!

8) I have some of the best friends in the entire world, and I miss them terribly! They ALL live in Louisiana! Maybe I should move back home... My parents are still in New Orleans too. They are my everything!

9) I love my puppies, Nola Claire (Maltipoo) and Gucci (Pug)!! Never a dull moment with these two furbabies! There is something so sweet about what an animal can do for you. It's knowing that they will ALWAYS love you unconditionally. That's also why it makes it so hard to lose them. :(

10) K is my heart and my best friend. He came into my life at a very interesting time, and I'm so thankful he did. He has taught me how to love again - what a wonderful feeling! I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him! (hint hint) ;)

It's Thirsty Thursday again! Man, I LOVE this day!!

I'm back on my wine kick, and have been enjoying some deliciously sweet Rieslings. My latest favorite is the 2008 Riesling from Sagelands Vineyard in Walla Walla, Washington (Haha!!)

It is crisp, not too sweet and medium bodied. FABULOUS.

What's your favorite wine?

On another note: Remember last week's Thirsty Thursday post? I mentioned the Colorado Bulldog, and My Love's thought that it would be great to sip while playing Black Jack. Well, this is what I received at 3:15 AM... case and point.

Lubbock Bound

Why you ask?? Because I am the best girlfriend EVER ;), and know how much this means to My Love and his ~~obsession~~ love for college football!! We decided this Sunday to make the trek to Lubbock, TX. Little did we know that it would not be an easy task to see the Red Raiders defeat the Aggies. All flights to Lubbock from Houston were booked - none.zilch.nada. So... we are flying into Midland, renting a car, and driving 3 hours to Lubbock. Boy, does he owe me!!! Should be a GREAT weekend! Today is my Thursday and tomorrow is my Friday! Yay! I'm headed to Baton Rouge for the weekend to not only see all of my long lost besties, but also see LSU beat Florida!! GEAUX TIGERS!! This weekend is going to be jam packed with martinis and madness!!

Gross, I know, but I would really like to know. I have recently nicknamed her "Princess Poo-Poo Foot" because everytime I come home from work, she is COVERED in poop! She is only 3 lbs. and doesn't eat all that much so I'm not sure from where it is coming. My Nola Claire is one ~~gross~~ cute little furball!

Happy 25th Birthday, Katherine!

I write this post from a very sad place as today would have been my sweet younger sister, Katherine's, 25th birthday. She fought a long and courageous battle against Cystic Fibrosis, but lost the good fight on October 19, 2006. She is greatly missed, but I know we all have an amazing angel watching over us at all times.

Monday = Martini. Enough said.

So this weekend proved to be not too eventful. Which was GREAT! I love those weekends where you do a whole lot of nothing. I took Nola Claire to the vet on Saturday morning. She is doing really well - 2.2 pounds and we don't have to go back for another month. The rest of the weekend consisted of eating, drinking wine and watching movies. I watched How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (LOVE Kate Hudson), Guess Who (Ashton Kutcher is so h-o-t), The Wedding Date ("A wedding is a sacrament... a joyous celebration of love and commitment. In Utopia. In the real world... it's an excuse to drink excessively and say things you shouldn't say."), Monster in Law (Jane Fonda is flawless) and Tommy Boy (Fat guy in a little coat...). On Sunday, I went with Sarah to do some retail therapy. Some therapy...I bought nothing, nada, zilch. Shocking, I know! I was proud of my self-control. VERY proud.

I wish every weekend could be this good. Now it's back to the daily grind...

Weekend Recap:

My mom, bestie, Mandy, and her mom, Rose, were in town for a quick weekend packed full of wedding and bridesmaid dress shopping! Mandy is getting married 12/11/10 (don't you love the date!), and wanted to get a head start on wedding dress shopping. What better place to do so than Houston!? :) I'm the best MOH ever! I took her to all the fabulous places in Houston, and even tried on some ~~hideous~~ gorgeous bridesmaids dresses for her to get an idea of what she loved and loathed. We shared good food & drinks, good laughs, great memories and a few good tears! Mandy looked stunning in the dresses! Rose cried instantly! And so did my mom! Geez, imagine what she will do when it's my time! All in all, it was a fabulous weekend with great friends & family.
